All members of the news media requesting interview and/or on-site filming access at Newport Aquarium must contact our Public Relations department in advance of their arrival. Members of the news media must be escorted by an Newport Aquarium team member at all times while on property.
Tripods can be accommodated in some areas of the Aquarium with advance permission. For the health and well-being of our animals, flash and heavy lighting are not allowed in certain areas of the aquarium. Please discuss your lighting and flash needs with our Public Relations department before your visit.
Working members of the news media with positions as on-air talent, producers, writers or editors may request up to two complimentary tickets to experience Newport Aquarium as a guest. Please submit your requests by completing this form at least five working days in advance of your visit. Due to limited capacities, we cannot guarantee complimentary tickets. You will receive a confirmation email if we are able to fulfill your request. On your date of visit, please bring media credentials.

The magic of Scuba Santa’s Water Wonderland is coming to a close on December 24 at Newport Aquarium. Visitors will have one more week to experience the one-of-a-kind holiday tradition as Scuba Santa dives into the 385,000-gallon shark tank before his big trip around the world. During each dive, Scuba Santa will talk to visitors while he is underwater with rare Shark Rays and a curious sea turtle named Denver.

Newport Aquarium is celebrating a conservation achievement as three young Orinoco crocodiles prepare to return to South America to help repopulate their species in the wild. This exciting milestone was reached through an ongoing partnership between Newport Aquarium and the Association of Zoos and Aquariums to save the Orinoco crocodile, one of the rarest and most endangered reptiles in the world.

Newport Aquarium has announced an immersive new experience coming this fall that’s been more than two years in the making. The new Underwater Pumpkin GLOW will take visitors on a one-of-a-kind fall adventure under the sea. Throughout the aquarium, you’ll encounter larger-than-life sculptures of some of your favorite Newport Aquarium animals reimagined as pumpkins. It includes a giant, glowing underwater octopus, an underwater pumpkin patch and glowing environments for families to explore together. The new experience comes as the aquarium continues to celebrate its 25th anniversary year.

Newport Aquarium announced today that Shark Summer is off to a thrilling start as it welcomes two new zebra sharks and a young shark ray to its Surrounded by Sharks exhibit. Visitors will be able to watch these amazing animals explore their new home while learning what makes sharks so unique and so important to the health of ocean ecosystems. According to organizers of World Ocean Day, at least 14 million tons of plastic ends up in the ocean each year. On this World Ocean Day, Newport Aquarium is bringing awareness to ocean conservation with help from its mermaid friends and even the Cincinnati Bengals.

Newport Aquarium has announced they’ll be adding mermaid magic to this summer starting on Memorial Day weekend. From May 25 through June 23, the enchanted experience of Mermaids will bring bubble kisses and tail flips to the Cincy region for a summer to remember. As the aquarium celebrates its 25th anniversary year, the mermaids will be swimming and playing with stingrays in Mermaid Cove for the very first time.

As part of its 25th anniversary celebration, Newport Aquarium has announced an intriguing new exhibit with opening weekend kicking off on Friday, March 22. The all-new Ring of Fire: World of the Octopus contains seven different displays focused on the bizarre and fascinating creatures that live between towering volcanos and deep ocean trenches in this part of the world that boasts the most earthquakes of any region on the planet. The extreme conditions make for some highly unusual animals which visitors to the aquarium will be able to experience up close.

Summer is here and it’s just not summer without sharks! The popular Shark Summer event returns to Newport Aquarium May 26 to September 10. Visitors will experience dozens of these fascinating apex predators while learning about the important role they play in healthy ocean ecosystems. The experience includes Shark Bridge - suspended just inches over a tank full of sharks - and a millions of years old megalodon shark tooth visitors can touch.

Newport Aquarium announced a brand-new exhibit today with opening weekend slated for March 3-5. Hatchling Harbor will bring an entirely new ecosystem and hundreds of colorful animals, many of them babies. At 25 feet, the new Caribbean seagrass habitat will be among the longest tanks in the aquarium. It’s set in an immersive environment designed to let visitors explore this special spot between the shore and the reef.

Visitors slow down to discover hidden clues and fascinating animals. Newport Aquarium is kicking off the fall season with its Underwater Scavenger Hunt Around the World, presented by Skyline Chili. Starting this weekend, visitors are invited to slow down and discover the sometimes-overlooked animals as they search for hidden globes throughout the aquarium’s exhibits. Those who find all the clues will discover a hidden phrase that can be used to enter for a chance to win four Newport Aquarium Annual Passes and a $100 Skyline gift card.
