Inspire STEM interests with an immersive Field Trip to the Newport Aquarium! Your students will discover the wonder of an underwater world and SEA thousands of the world’s most exotic aquatic animals. They’ll experience hands on learning as they TOUCH stingrays, sharks, crabs and other creatures and learn how their actions can contribute to conservation efforts. Plus, EXPLORING underwater tunnels, getting eye-to-eye with penguins and a rare white alligator and sharing thrilling adventures like walking inches above a tank full of sharks on the first-in-the-world Shark Bridge will connect them to learning in the real world.
All exhibits plus Shark Bridge are included with a School Group Admission Ticket. A minimum of 10 student tickets are required to receive school rates. Receive 1 complimentary chaperone admission per every 10 student admissions. All School Field Trips are self-guided and must be booked two weeks in advance.

Experience a once-in-a-lifetime up-close experience with one of our African Penguin ambassadors! This interactive presentation is provided by one of the Animal Experience Specialists who care for these adorable birds. Students will have the opportunity to ask questions, take pictures, touch penguin artifacts and learn all about these endangered animals.

Enhance student learning with WAVE Foundation at Newport Aquarium with grade specific classroom experiences that explore STEM concepts and conservation in line with Kentucky & Ohio Core Academic Standards in Science. Learn about incredible aquatic animals, the science behind water with topics in chemistry or the water cycle and plate tectonics exploring hydrothermal vents as seen in the Ring of Fire Octopus exhibit.
This 45-minute experience takes place in the WAVE Foundation’s NEW classroom space and can accommodate up to 90 students.

Enjoy a unique opportunity for your students to get up-close with one of our reptile ambassadors! This special interactive presentation is led by an Animal Experience Specialist who helps care for these amazing cold-blooded animals. Students will have the chance to touch a reptile, take photos, ask questions and learn all about their species. This is a unique hands-on learning opportunity your students will remember forever!

WAVE Foundation at Newport Aquarium customized this self-guided educational adventure through the aquarium for grades K-12, with worksheets that encourage students to dig deep into animal characteristics, behaviors and the world around them through habitat observation, animal touch, exhibit signage and more.
