Admissions Cast

Year-Round Part-Time approx. 20 hrs. per week

Must have open availability Monday through Friday (9:00 am - 6:30 pm) incl. weekends and holidays

General Summary:
Support fellow cast members in their roles. Play an important role in creating a memorable experience for guests through proactive friendly transactions and anticipating their needs. All admissions cast are required to adhere to all Newport Aquarium policies & procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform opening and closing duties
  • Ability to follow proper cash handling procedures
  • Responsible for successful guest entrance into the aquarium
  • Enforce all policies in a polite and consistent manner
  • Maintain accurate record keeping involving member counts & attendance
  • Handle comments, complaints, and suggestions from guests
  • Maintain an atmosphere of friendliness, courteousness, and professionalism
  • Work with other cast members to ensure a high level of cast/guest interaction
  • Assist supervisors and management with any additional duties

Qualifications:

  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Prior cash handling and customer service experience preferred
  • Experience in a similar guest service capacity
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Friendly, outgoing and proactive approach
  • Ability to learn and perform all job functions
  • Good communication skills a must

Physical Requirements

  • Able to spend most of the workday walking/standing in aquarium public spaces
  • Ability to learn and perform all job functions
