Admissions Cast
Year-Round Part-Time approx. 20 hrs. per week
Must have open availability Monday through Friday (9:00 am - 6:30 pm)
incl. weekends and holidays
General Summary:
Support fellow cast members in their roles. Play an important role in creating a memorable experience for guests through proactive friendly transactions and anticipating their needs. All admissions cast are required to adhere to all Newport Aquarium policies & procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Perform opening and closing duties
- Ability to follow proper cash handling procedures
- Responsible for successful guest entrance into the aquarium
- Enforce all policies in a polite and consistent manner
- Maintain accurate record keeping involving member counts & attendance
- Handle comments, complaints, and suggestions from guests
- Maintain an atmosphere of friendliness, courteousness, and professionalism
- Work with other cast members to ensure a high level of cast/guest interaction
- Assist supervisors and management with any additional duties
Qualifications:
- Basic computer knowledge
- Prior cash handling and customer service experience preferred
- Experience in a similar guest service capacity
- Ability to multi-task
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Friendly, outgoing and proactive approach
- Ability to learn and perform all job functions
- Good communication skills a must
Physical Requirements
- Able to spend most of the workday walking/standing in aquarium public spaces
- Ability to learn and perform all job functions
